Much Respect to the Girl Who Rides

Limp dready sun dried hair

Flakey spotty dark skin Bruises,

battle scars and caluses

Welcome to my life

It never really occurred to me how bad my overall physical condition is, if i use "normal" girl standards. I do understand why a lot of girls don't wanna ride because of the factors stated above which you will face in all eternity.

And of course i also do understand us a few ones who loves to ride and doesn't give a flying f*ck.

Am not gonna deny, i am vain. I love to dress up, paint my nails with glitter and definitely a plus to make an effort and look presentable. But sure aint easy, with the life i've chosen to be in.

I probably spend more hours outdoors than most of my guy friends and most definitely spend more time in the salon than most of my girl friends just to get that dreadlock out from constantly being in front of the wind avergaging at 15-20knots most days. It may look good in photos but windblown salty sun dried hair is not really easy to deal with I tell you!

You better give much deserved respect to the girl who rides.

Growing up in a society that considers dark skin to be ugly it wasn't an easy choice for me and definitely not easy to get a guy i like to even look at me, that i really had to capitalize on being smart and funny. hehe

That's why every year i make an effort to take you, like me, a rad.girl who rides, out for a good time with other girls like you.

A platform to encourage and empower, that you are not alone and we are all in the same boat. I say this to you, dont give up and keep on shredding, show the world what it's all about. May it be on land, water or snow, on wheels or boards. Be clad in pink, Keep on riding and don't hold back! I give my respect back to you.

You are a girl on fire!

Last minute Run

So guys am back in Outer Banks for the Triple S Invitational again this year. The travel was tiring coming from Boracay and of course a few days in manila is needed to run some errands. Because i was busy with a lot of things before i left Paradise island i didn't realize that my manila trip was booked on a weekend! If your from the philippines you know that absolutely nothing gets done on weekends! First of all my passport was not even with me yet, then i had to take my luggage out from the roxy shop, go to the dentist, go to the headware office to pick up my stuff and peak into jason's playbox of bad ass product prototypes :) and of course get my hair done by Laura of David's Salon. Yeah whatever! I love going to salons and get pampered especially by David Salon and i am gonna be in the land of expensive salons For a while AKA USA and Europe. Good thing laura got me prepared for the battle with some serum to keep my hair alive for te next couple of months. Also tried to squeeze in a few wacky hours to see my wacky city friends!
So yes its my first day back in the states, still suffering from jetlag, woke up at 5am today! Although i was already sleeping at the plane in accordance to the time here so it aint that hard for now. thank god i flew via delta, and they also have a great selection of movies to keep me busy. being in boracay has its perks and downside including snail pace internet and backlog on movies. i saw 3 1/2 movies on the way here, bummed i didnt get to finish the last one which was Sam Pilgrim VS The World! And hope to get some good sessions in before the triple s! Am soooo excited! Can't waiiiit! Stay tuned!

What i was thinking during the trip:
Airplane food sucks
Sunsets are great from airplanes
I dont like window seats
Blue moon
And i shed some tears of happiness just because! - if you trackback my blog from 2 1/2 years ago you'll know what i mean

Happy Holidays!

Am not really feeling the holidays this year.

Or maybe i was just tooo busy this month to actually think about it.

I went to see the Chiro the other day and lo and behold i have an isolated PCL tear on my RIGHT knee this time. Gosh!

No Kitesurfing nor wakeboarding, skating, surfing, running for the next 6 weeks!

I think am gonna die. ;(

At least it doesn't require any surgery, just need to go to rehabilitation for some therapy for the next 6 days (which includes christmas day), REST and WALK in these Crutches which i was also sporting in one of my past posts after that surface Railey Carnage.. Seems like the vacation i had in mind is not gonna happen.

I just want my knees to have full recovery.

On that light, i had to do therapy for both my knees since i was too hard headed to go to therapy when my left knee gave up on me maybe a year ago in the cable (again).
