See To Believe

Paros is such a beautiful spot.
i remember i had a moment of bliss a couple of weeks ago
just cruising around the spot over sunset.
My God, it's pretty!

So i took my GoPro out to let you see
what i see.
Enjoy!

PS: this was a really windy day, i had to depower my 7m and was cruising fast.

So, Ms. Anny Barlow decided to come this season to Paros too.

Paros by Night

Paros is lovely during the day
and it's lovelier at night.
here are some snaps from a night out in Naoussa.
Naoussa is a small town here in Paros where all the restaurants and bars are located.
My greek friends told me that when Greece was having problems with piracy during the older days they came to Paros via the Naoussa port.

I also love going to Naoussa for the best Loucoumades in town, the best dessert in the world.

Naoussa is known for the Parties but Paros is known for the chill out and relaxed life
here is what i see outside our house.
I took this during a full moon night
and also some long exposures when there was no moon and you can see all the stars

Paros mostly thrives from farming olives and other vegitation
so our house is situated in a farm area and light is very scarce at night so you can
see the gazillion stars in the sky.

Greece being relatively cloudless during summer gives you the most spectacular view of the night sky which is just breathtaking.
check out the pictures.
there is one picture where a plane passed by and it created a line in the sky.
i find it funny.
thats all.

cheers from windy, sunny and starry Greece X

Smile with your eyes

its high season here in Paros and its lovely.am so glad i came back here. The school has been really busy and i've been enjoying a 9pm sunset everyday which is really cool.

I get to spend a lot of time in the water and that kinda makes me forget to update my blog because i always think i have time to do it at night but the day here is soooo long, when it gets dark its almost time for bed :P

hehe.

I've been pretty well these past few weeks after that freak stupid crash i had in the triple s and this neck injury which is recovering quite fast thanks to the healthy greek food and my healthy life here in Paros as always.

Ive been concentrating on just making myself better in general, just really focused on healing right now.
my days are filled with Yoga Sessions, my breakfast consisting of oats and bananas with almonds - to avoid cramps ( #things youaretrainedtodowhenyouwereanathleteinschool) lunch mostly consists of fresh veggies, feta cheese and sometimes pasta. and for dinner - trying to learn some greek dishes and my gyro/souvlaki fix.
Ive also been disciplined, like really disciplined on my alcohol intake, which i admit is really hard being in Greece during summer when all your friends and everyone else around you is on vacation feening on some drunk dancing.
---ive been drinking Milk and Nesquik instead of beer :P
i'd take a bottle or two during weekends but thats it.
i feel like a minor. hehe.

of course in between are the daily kite sessions and painting my nails plus taking pictures here in beautiful paros.

Am so keen on getting back in riding. and also am stoked on the new stuff i've learned over the past sessions i have had. I learn a lot when i kite here in Paros, everyone else just helps each other with the riding instead of competing with each other which is what i think is great about the crew here same as how it was with the Triple S crew and the OBX kite community in general. Cant wait to get 110% again and be back on my boots in no time <3

But best of all i believe it's the fresh air, warm sun (vitamin D) and the beautiful scenery that has mad my recovery so good and fast as far as today.

So am sharing you these images i took the other day. This is my daily route (5mins on push bike/10min walk) to Paros Kiteboarding Center from our House here in Paros, Greece. <3
taken at 9am.

hope you love them as much as i do, every morning when i pass by.
let these images from my eyes, make you picture how these things give me a nice smile on my face
everyday.

Cheers and Windy Greets
from Paros, Greece

Summer sun shining brighter than ever.

i woke up with the sun shining on my face.
am so happy am back here in Greece for the Summer.
the weather is sooo awesomeee!!!
i must admit that the city is really not for me, and so is the cold,
life is better in my bikinis!hehe
-
I can say now that i've recovered well from my last unfortunate "encounter"
and i must admit i got really scared
and got to think a bit on what the future is gonna be.
for now, am just really stoked to be back in the water, where i belong :)
-
i went kiting today with a surfboard,
the entire Paros kite team has been very helpful - so nice!

my greek kite family always got my back and supports me in every way.
we spent the entire day shooting for my Roxy finalist challenge video.
everyone had their own idea on how to make me look "roxy" lol
really excited on how it will turn out.
crossing my fingers X

here are some snaps from today's shoot

PS: for those who are still not decided on their summer plans
i suggest you come visit me here in Paros Island,
its an ideal place to learn how to kite, and for all you kiters, bring your small kites.

Longest flight ever.

so, this is my first post after being "stuck" in my longest trip ever.
After leaving OBX, i had to go on a drive to Newark with the Tribu team in the USA, see how they are like, hang out a little and fly out to Athens through Newark as well.
the drive was ok but took longer than expected, there were some minor stops that i didn't get
to do before boarding the plane. I got to NWR just in time for my 13 hour flight to Athens with a stop in London.
The heathrow airport became a pain in the ass as i needed to change terminals in like 30minutes, running like crazy from one end to the next to catch my flight connection. At this point i was already feeling Dizzy. I slept the entire time during this flight from the moment i sat down. I would wake up periodically to change positions and my head felt like a balloon. I asked for ibuprofen ( which i don't) usually do) from the flight attendant. and drank A LOT of water hoping to make me feel better but it didn't. I arrived the airport and thank god my greek kiter friends Aphrodite and mike is there ( who got injured a couple of days before i arrived.)

the drive to athens was the worst, the traffic was bad and yeah greek drivers are not really the calmest in the world, plus the weather was not really helping as well.

Coming out from Chilly San Francisco then OBX then the hot summer heat in Greece caused my nose to bleed and at this point i decided that i need to get to a hospital already.

The doctors had to put me on a CT scan and held me in the hospital for a while. This is not my first time in a greek hospital, infact its my 4th one if am not mistaken but its the first for this trip. I Love greek doctors, they are very caring and you can really see that they know what they are doing and saying, the nurses were nice but it didn't help that they cannot understand english so well.

Everything turned out well for me in the end and the CT scan is A ok :)

Now am sitting in Pounda beach, Paros Island my home spot here in Europe.
listening to some great house music from the radio and enjoying the strong meltemi wind <3
i also got my souvlaki fix already...yummmy

now am focused on recovering and eating a lot to gain some of my weight back.
ill be here for the next three months guys.\
do come and visit me if you have plans of coming to greece
or just simply if you wanna hang out with me.

Internet here is a bit slow so bear with me in updating my blog X

am still on a OBX hangover...missing everyone from there X

Tuesday, August 9

Ice Cream, Flowers and Kisses.

Probably the most simple and best birthday i had so far.
Been busy working but am not complaining, its really really good. Plus i get to be with some good friends and loved ones.

During my special 26th bday i had a welcome party at the house with all the ParosKite Crew over some tortellini, pita and retsina.
Plus of course a safety meeting. hehe

The party ended at 3am and i had to get up at 9 so i was a zombie at work during my bday.
As you can see in the picture above, am not really in my prettiest face Lol.
But hey the girls gave me a cake, a summerheart lolly and a nice gumamela flower.
I went kiting too with Anton and some of the crew. The day ended with a nice sunset over the Pounda Port.

Anton took me to AntiParos for a good stroll over Gyros, French Fries and Home Made Ice Cream <3

Ill post more pictures when i get some time.

Thanks for all the birthday greetings.
So nice to feel loved.

When the wind doesnt blow

been really busy lately and haven't been posting so much
moving around with this new HUGE quiver is harder than i thought.
Good thing anton is here with me already to help me with my luggage <3 in exchange of a backrub and some good food. hehe

Anyways, the wind is dead for the past few and it's keeping our spirits low.
though i was able to manage to get some work done for the last two weeks.

here are some snaps from our day off
me and meg went to Punda Beach Bar where all the young scandinavian kids come out to party
we met a gay couple - a DJ and a bartender who was working the sunset shift.
Gay couples are always hot. hehe
