my computer is officially dead.

its ok though, served me for 4 years i think.

but am just sad because there is so much stuff to do and am stuck with no computer

and its hard to update my blog and upload pictures.

so for now you will have to deal with kiting shots mostly as my point and shoot is also broken plus i dont have a computer to upload it with.

so here i am again updating through anton´s computer.

we didn't push through with the Vigan trip because of the schedule situation

but yes we are happy here in windy boracay.

in two days we will be in manila to paint the town red, see some friends and work a little bit.

i have a shoot with two of my favorite waterbabies.

it's been really busy for the last three weeks and i can say that this is the first weekend i had off since the KTA started. it was really hectic but fun at the same time. now i get to spend some time with working on my computer, the shots and also prepping up to go back to Vigan, which is ahhhmazing.

we have been traveling and shooting with the COR aka children of revolution here in boracay and union bay. we had an awesome time shooting with the jet ski, GoPro and heli, how sick is that eh? and as usual, when my riding gets better i just fuck it up again completely with the shoulder when i get to try harder stuff.

this sucks so bad.

but what to do but let it heal again, rehab and prioritize a surgery before i leave the country again.

so yeah this weekend i was just hangin with some friends and it reminded me on why i stayed and lived in boracay in the last 6-7 years of my life. and i tell you, even if its full of tourists here and there, oh it is a great place to be, great people and just good vibes if you just know where to look and where to be.

its also funny how fast the coconut express is, your gone out working 2 jobs for the last 3 weeks plus some events and don't hang around, the next thing you know is that there are rumors about you being snobbish, obnoxious, judgemental or whatever just because you dont show up because your working.. its funny how assuming and conclusive it is. i jsut wish that sometimes people are more understanding that there are other things you do in your life aside from partyingö like, sleeping, enjoying some daytime sport, doing the errands, or just simply working, to continue living a good life and get some time to kitesurf .

at the end of each day you just have to not think of what others think, because it will eventually get to you and destroy some goals and achievements you have been doing during your daily life.

don't let this things affect you, do what you love to do, what feels right and just rise above all things that bring you down.

o well, in the end i love you all X

my bruised toe

"training for the kta" and the actual KTA resulted to a limping me. both my feet are bruised and it hurts like crazy, well not really. its just annoying, especially on the left toe. uhhh. i also have a deep cut on my right pinky toe i am nursing now. i only made 1 race and my foot just cant handle the pain anymore :( o well there is always a next time. as for the freestyle, it was really... nerve racking..whew. the level of the girls were so high and its been really good for everyone except for me, my lines got tangled on a buoy on my 2nd heat on the FIRST minute, it resulted to my kite looping for a while until i gave up and pulled the release...o well til next time.

but in the end it was about the experience, the fun and personal challenges you face in a competition arena.

congrats to all the winners.

so its healing time as there is no wind for 2day, we are waiting for some wind for the 23rd Boracay Funboard Cup which started today. crossing our fingers.

today was a perfect windless day for a while as we just had our closing party for the KTA - Boracay stop.

i might say am getting a hang of this competitions and i think i just needed the initial experience to actually start doing it "properly" now.

PS: harness your craft and the best. so you dont have to pull a lady macbeth just to outstand from the rest. X

Rediscovering Kiteboarding

hej all,

happy new year to everyone! this is my first official 2012 post because my black macbook finally gave up on me after 4 years? something like that.

am a bit sad about it, as i really loooove my black macbook and i will never be able to get a new one just like that :(

its been really windy everyday and am overpowered always on a 7m. its good and bad in both ways. in some way its good because i don,t unhook and this makes me be more creative in my hooked in freestyle tricks which is actually going quite well for me and my shoulder as of the moment.

but yea at the end of the day, you dont really want to be riding overpowered all the time, now am nursing 3 cuts in my feet, a bruised foot from hitting my board and a bruised up thumb from my hand hitting my IDS system at times.

but everything else is good and all is well. i just wish my computer was still alive so i can process some pictures for all of you to see.

hej all,
hope everyone is having a blast this holiday season.
am in boracay as of the moment, and this is actually the first time i spent Christmas here.

the parties have been good so far but am still waiting for the big NYE party.

the wind has also been blasting that i cannot even go out on my 7m anymore. lets see if i can get a hold of a 5.5 and do some big airs.

am enjoying my downtime so much and the events of the year 2011 has been really awesome.

december has been very productive workwise but been really lacking on the personal side of things as i have been really really busy to catch up with friends and family but i was able to think a lot about what has been going on with my life as of the moment.

PS: the ego is a bad thing if it's circumference is twice as much as your normal head size.
and people that are out there to deliberately destroy your ego and self esteem is not worth even a second of your time..trust me you are better off hanging out with yourself.

WONW 2011 wraps up

its been a fun and challenging 10days for me here in CWC both in the Jam and in my life in general.
----

First of all battling a recurring shoulder injury which actually made me more focused on my riding and made me more careful.
and yes people the shoulder is stronger than ever and am really happy about that.

its also nice to know that even if you and your friends see each other once to twice a year theyre still the funny bunch of mofos that youve always known and they always got your back no matter what. and because of that am planning up my whole year ahead already to see these people, i think it would be much more worth it than what i did this last year.

its much more worth it than spending a lot of time with a group of people who doesnt even care about your feelings, support your ambition, or just simply include you in plans and conversations.

i am also glad i got A LOT of shots from the winch park and some gopro stuff but most of them have watermarks as usual.

but anyways here are some excerpts from the event.

The last 2 weeks has been crazy.
Traveling non-stop
This is the first day i can sit down properly and update everyone on my wherabouts.

We were up in the north for almost 4 weeks.
a week in Vigan-Kingfisher then Vigan again then Kingfisher
then 5 days in Boracay then now back in my hood, CWC yo!
Nice to see everyone too.

Am here now for the Wind or No Wind Board Jam 2011.
i may say i did well not injuring my shoulder on the warm up sesh.
it's been great so far.

We just arrived Vigan the other day and we had a fun tourist day yesterday.

tried to make a proper clay pot. didn't really work out so well but it was fun, putting my thumb in the clay mix though to create a hole in the middle was a weird feeling. haha

today we went kiting in a sick new spot. Its insane! onshore and offshore in on spot, reminds me so much of Prasso.

ok i've been back in the philly islands for 3 weeks i guess?

i am doing my rounds right now

visited some friends in manila,

went out to b-side and of course TIMEZONE!!!

first stop :)

i don't gamble for real but yeah i spend a lot of my hard earn Gs in the arcade since i was a little kid.

attended a friend's wedding, which was the main reason why i went back earlier.

she's actually my oldest friend to date.

we met in the first day in preperatory school? is that correct.

stayed in CWC for a few days to say hi to some local friends and shoot some vid.

my shoulder i think got a bit of a shock coming from the cold into the warmth and directly to the cable. yikes.

o well i had fun shooting eli, susan and anton.

I am now in Palawan enjoying the sun and the underwater sanctuaries in this part of the country.

i miss diving sooo much being in europe for 4 months.

so now am off to laoag to the north to finally have some surf!!! here weeee go!

i took over the apartment in CWC and we will be having it during the upcoming WONW which would be awesome!!!

can't wait to see everyone again.

so nice to be back in the warmth.

Went from Göteborg till London till HongKong

Our luggage got stuck in London because our flight was late to catch the HK leg

but since my visa doesn't permit me to enter the UK they had to let us go on the plane without our stuff. Which turned out good in the end cause we weren't lugging it around HK which would have been a real pain in the ass.

spent halloween weekend in HK which was awesome. went partying in Drop where my friend Joel Lai was playing with DJ Born to Funk who really had a great set.

Last minute halloween costume hunting turned nice as well. hehe

also went around Lantau and ocean park which i havent really done since i was like 12.

it was really nice but HK turned too commercialized over the past 10 years its insane.

but still, i always enjoy my HK stopovers.

flew to Manila yesterday, arrived 1pm and we had to come back for our luggage around 5pm. then straight off take the night bus to CWC. so here i am now in the cable park so excited to be back shredding in 30degrees. today we will be riding in our costumes. it would be sick.

Ive been busy fixing our upcoming trip for Asia's Kite Season.

and i didn't realize that there were many things i still wanted to do and learn here in Sweden
Baking was one of them.

I successfully made Kanelbullar - Cinnamon Rolls today.

Lemon Squares a few days ago and Kyckling och Potatis Paj (Chicken and Potato Pie)

The kitchen space is very important to swedish people, it's actually nice because it makes you wanna use the kitchen all the time.

So yea it was so nice to prepare breakfast and clean up after :)

Here is Jens' a friend we met in Boracay, and now we are in his kitchen. He's making a wonderful dinner for us.

Stockholm in Motion

the people in Stockholm are amazingly fashionable. same ol' same ol' like other big cities of the world such as Paris, Milan, NYC.

young, old, men and women, here the style is everywhere even with the babies. so cute.

It's also nice they have a really big cycling culture here sans there's no air pollution making this a healthy and environmentally friendly habit AKA style.

here is olivia, she took me around stockholm for the day. She's an FA and hairdresser here. nice job eh? :)

i had the most amazing ice cream today.

spend a day in the GOT, in "city clothes" i don't really mind being in the city for a few weeks as long as i can dress up and if the city is cool to be in.

This city is pretty, the trains are nice and the streets are pleasing to the eyes.
Busy in a good way.

went to Gothenburg for the 2nd time to run some errands and pay earphones.se a visit.
it's a really dank store, reminds me of REPUBL1C in the Philippines.
its nice to be in this environment again, reminiscent of the work that i used to do.
the people were really nice and the girl working there is half filipino, how cool is that.

When i was young i had a manual SLR minolta camera to play with
it was really expensive for me to shoot and play with the cost of film plus development

i am reflecting on the joy of having a digital SLR and a viewfinder.
Though nowadays being a photographer is so easy.
Before, you had to be one of those "talented" ones with an eye for it and the patience to match it.
in short you are a geek.

I remember buying a roll of film at ISO 100 for 30 shots would cost me 1 day school allowance and we go shoot with some friends around.
we need to be very prepared as we only have 1 roll each. after that we would have to go back to the dark room and develop it ourselves.

It took us 2-3 days 2 to do this.

So what am i saying?
Am saying yes i love taking pictures and doing video ( and then before i had a separate v8 cam to do video that is nothing as F*ck like compared to shooting video on 60D)
Am so glad am back on this after a while

it would still be fun to shoot in manual though - when it was all about craftsmanship and creativity - which is now simplified in an application called Photoshop

Ive been in KakaLand or CozyLand as i wanna describe it better for two weeks now.

Sweden is nice country to be in, really. except for the weather, but as you can see the sunsets here are nice because of all the clouds and mountains that makes the shots more interesting than a bare blue sky.

Yesterday we went to a place in Gothenberg with a 2.0 sesitec, it reminded me of my home cable and realized how spoiled we are in the Philippines with the wake parks. not just CWC but also the others like DECA and the upcoming ones in Nuvali and Clark. The water was freezing but hey atleast i gave it a try. The other day i went kiting for like 30minutes, until i was underpowered and had to go back in.

I had to wear 2 wetsuits then i screamed so loud on my first crash, it's like diving into an ice freezer...brrr.

Our nights are filled with hanging out in the "safe" streets of sweden shooting, skating, eating chocolates, snus and just having fun with everyone.

i met this really cool kid, filip he's the bomb.

so many toys, and the ones that i like too.

he operated his finger one night while anton filmed it and i was just watching getting a bit dizzy with all the blood.

My shoulder and knee is not good for this kind of waters...

For now am enjoying the Mjolk, Chocolates and the cozyness of this country. Peace.

ok so, sweden AKA Godis (candy) and Kaka (cake) land.

is not as bad as their weather is.

Went to Liseberg Theme Park which is so fun. (anton refused to give me a copy of the video footy so i dont have some here).

The kids here in Sweden are so dank.

It's like living in pleasantville and the kids can just be kids.

Plus the pizza is also nice. how can you imagine that peanuts and bananas are nice to have on your pizza? I never really liked pizza that much until now, you know that.

Anyways

The gang went kiting but i was freezing my ass out so am just always shooting, which is also cool but would really love to kite soon. ive been out of the water for almost 3 weeks i think?

I wish i have a 5,3 wetsuit. Now am wishing i took the White Trinity Full suit instead of the Jewel 2,5 shorty :(

o well, there's always a next time.

PS: it's not so bad to have a little less sun from time to time.

PSS: it was also nice to wear some shoes. i got a really nice pair that am gonna wear soonish here in the City. hihi

then now i have a greater understanding on South Park and IKEA. lol

anyways here is my first Post from Sweden. I wish i can go to the store to buy some chocolates, some actual clothes for girls to wear in the cold and go to the theme park soon.

on the bright side of things. i passed through a field of sunflowers the other day and it was really nice. it would be dank if i can run around them and just lie down til the sun sets.

i had a dream about sunflower fields months ago, feels almost like deja vu.

like i was meant to be here.

Went to Rodos for a short visit

it was really nice and very medieval.

Old Town was amazzzing.

Anton took me on a day trip to old town.

I always enjoy these places.

We stayed in a friend's place in Rhodes Town and the room was above Pacha Rhodes. The view from it was amazing. Sunset overlooking Turkey. Siccck!

The room reminded me of Room one above Hey Jude in Boracay. Music until the wee hours in the morning.

But it was such a dank place to spend a few nights.

Then we went on to Praso which is one of the best spots i've ever been so far. It's a bit crowded but you just have to step up to get some space. Spending a few seshies here was good for progression since the water is flat and wind is offshore in the sand bar, then just go upwind and your on the wave spot. How cool eh?

We stayed in a Tent with Mikey and Eric.

It was really a nice experience. Prasso is one of those places you can stay forever and just be merry.

Ill definitely be back here.

Probably the most simple and best birthday i had so far.

Been busy working but am not complaining, its really really good. Plus i get to be with some good friends and loved ones.

During my special 26th bday i had a welcome party at the house with all the ParosKite Crew over some tortellini, pita and retsina.

Plus of course a safety meeting. hehe

The party ended at 3am and i had to get up at 9 so i was a zombie at work during my bday.

As you can see in the picture above, am not really in my prettiest face Lol.

But hey the girls gave me a cake, a summerheart lolly and a nice gumamela flower.

I went kiting too with Anton and some of the crew. The day ended with a nice sunset over the Pounda Port.

Anton took me to AntiParos for a good stroll over Gyros, French Fries and Home Made Ice Cream <3

been really busy lately and haven't been posting so much

moving around with this new HUGE quiver is harder than i thought.

Good thing anton is here with me already to help me with my luggage <3 in exchange of a backrub and some good food. hehe

Anyways, the wind is dead for the past few and it's keeping our spirits low.

though i was able to manage to get some work done for the last two weeks.

i have been backlogged on blogging lately because i've been having so much fun!!

best times ever. i live in a house with 6 other instructors and 2 roomies a polish and and australian girl. zuza and meg respectively. Theyre the best ever. we have a nice veranda where we have coffee in the morning. yes am taking coffee now because its just to nice to have one here. greek coffee is goooood! then we make our lunch and head out for a 10 minute walk to the kite center by the beach

There is a port nearby to Anti paros which is like a 10 minute ferry ride, which is cool. it is just exactly how i imagined greece to be. nice town with ice cream parlors, cheap souvlakis and full of blue and white shades. its a perfect place to raise a family or have a romantic stroll actually.

The sunset here is amazzzing. i am doing a rad video with the footy i have, its really breathtaking.

i am having such a nice time working in the center http://paroskite.gr because the crew is great, spot is amazing conditions are nice and the center's system is cool too!

am gonna post more pics soon but for now here are some pics of how fuct up athens was during the riots...hard timess.

First Post from Paros Island Greece

It has been very hectic the last week being stuck in Athens with all the riots going on

AND i got robbed :(

somebody broke into my car and took my ENTIRE luggage of clothes.

Well atleast my gear is safe and my camera and laptop is still here.

So funny actually why they just stole the clothes and also even picked from the lot, they left me with me with 1 boardshort, 1 shirt and 1 dress plus my KTA wet shirt and Jersey is still there, good thang!

My books, camera charger and bad ass X-mini speaker is there though..booo.

Well now am settled in Paros and we are waiting for the wind, i had my first sesh in the Aegean sea yesterday and it was a blasttt! can't wait to have some more.

I also had a little trip to AntiParos with my housemates on the first night. It's an amazing place and its only a 10 minute ferry ride away.

PS: Our house is amazing! complete with a kitchen, a garden with a lemon three and white roses <3 so beautiful! Our neighbor has some corn, pumkin and watermelons growing in their backyard, we have devised some plans to befriend our neighbors and get some fresh veggies. wiii!

i've been eating healthy stuff here all the time. Here are some pics of my daily lunch, the veggies here are sooo dank! i usually hate carrots but now am having them everyday. so yummy.

Ok, so this is my first post on my LONGGG summer trip

I went to HK for a few days to get some stuff at the Cabrinha HQ

hint: next year's gear are superrrr dank!

I was also waiting for my EU visa to take effect, which is today. so yah i flew in to Athens today.

I cannot stay in Manila any longer, the weather was so bad and everyone in the city is just normally cranky. blame it on the traffic and rising prices.

Today was one of the most hectic days ever, and i mean ever. I was told that there will be a transport rally when i get to Athens and there are no metros/buses/ferries and domestic flights for June 28th and 29th.

Am i so lucky? LOL

So i had to figure a way out of the airport with 50kilos worth of life in my luggage.

The taxi cue was like maybe 300 people or more, and nobody wanted to share a cab with me, thanks to my 150cm boardbag (which is really amazing, dont get me wrong).

So i had to take a car again, which i usally always do. On this trip i said i wouldn't but the instances left me no choice. It was my first time to drive on the left hand side. its so funny but i think i did pretty good.

I thought i was ok but when i got to the Athens it was a mess. there was a massive rally going on and my hostel is just right where it's at.

The roads were closed so i have to park somewhere near and take the subway 2 stops with 1 line change. I thought it would be easy, all the protestors used the subway as a "base". When i got there most of them were in the floor, all exhausted, with paints on their faces and gas masked.

i almost got tear gassed in the station too.

I pretty have a good background on being in the middle of riots really but this one is just heartbreaking.

I've never seen up close people that sad that it almost brought me to tears.

I remember when i was doing one of my community work, i've met people living like rats but they we're smiling.

this one is just different.

I managed to take some clips of the protestors but its not the crazy parts because i kinda panicked. hehe

too many things going on...

After all the tears and hardships this month of june.. made me stronger than ever.

Well, enough of this drama. This post is about me making it safe and sound in Athens. And to tell you, looking beyond the craziness that this beautiful country is going through right now, its still amazing.

Full of history and life.

Had a really really stressful week.

days aways from my summer trip

and still have so many things to do.

And i also had to see my Manila FRiends

Yesterday i had three mini despidada parties around town starting

at happy hour with Ikee and Dane.

We ended up in David's Salon for my LAST hair treatment in the next 4 months.

uhhh what am i gonna do with my hair now when there is no David Salon to run too.

am kinda depressed about this.

NOTE TO SELF: it's not good to get tipsy and decide on your haircut. really really bad.

i ended up getting a full bang. which is cute but am just not used to it.

Alas, my hair is not "barbie" dollish anymore. Got it darkened, let's see how long this will last until the sea and sun turns it blonde again.

I had fun rediscovering Manila with the closest friends i have here.

Went to have dinner with my High School friends at Good Earth Roast Rockwell, which was one of our favorite hang outs from college.

Went to see the CURV crew at Basilio's

nice to see everyone was there

Last stop was filling station. it's always nice to hang out in this place. i love the ambiance and the 50s diner motif.

Plus being stuck in a grey walled office with people walking around greeting you with your name initials. WTF!

Went to the Rudy Project/EFX store in Bonifacio High Street couple of days ago

to stash in for shades, watches and of course EFX bands for the coming months.

But there is one particular item that is soooo dank! Super excited to use it.

It's a sling bag with a solar panel that charges almost all your gadgets if not all. how cool is that?!

i've been wanting a portable solar charger since i saw one at the NatGeo store in Singapore 2 years ago.

luckkkky me :)

This bag is so sick! am gonna use this as my new mission pack and camera bag too.

Me and Susan are headed to Manila to do some errands and am off to my next adventure.

The new Royal Cass bus of RSL is sooo dank i had a really good sleep in the bus.

Am going back in town to seek help from acupuncturist

Sifu Sam who was referred by a good friend who dislocated her hip months ago.

Before having acupuncture she can't even walk without being in pain, as she needed surgery that is not even available in this country and she needed to come home to norway for it.

Well of course she found an alternative.

Am so glad that i met sifu sam who also gave me some really really effective chinese medicine for my knees at it has been fine ever since.

Now i'll see him tomorrow to get my shoulder treated and also like a "maintenance" visit for my knees.

Am so excited but not looking forward to the weird pain that acupuncture gives.

Am a believer in traditional chinese medicine...it rocks!

Got this new giz a couple of weeks back, i call it the UFO. Mac usb ports are so annoying that you cant really use them altogether but this one has 8 ports connected to my computer..talk about mutlitasking!

its really good for editing vids and photos so i dont have to put them in my laptop which makes it extremely sloww..

This week is gonna be busy as its gonna be THe Mission of all Mission week

1. Get my Ram upgraded

2. Get my actual passport

3. Go see some old friends

4. Get my hair fixed.

5. Meetings for next kite season

i've always been very sentimental and attached to random things and photos.

cleaning up my drive inside and out plus my stuff.

i've noticed i have so much boards lying around just because they have so much memories

i cannot let go.

in leiu with my "under renovation" sign

and i don't wanna build a museum of lovers with all these boards lying around, i feel bad for them.

soooo...

am giving away my old wakeboard (hyperlite 131 essence continuous rocker) + plus a pair of melissa OT 2010 bindings to someone who DESERVES it. :)

This is my favorite board and i want to go to the hands of somebody who really cares.

i already have somebody in mind but if you think you deserve this, its not to late :)

dislocated my left shoulder again. I really think this is not the first time this happened, the "first" time though i was able to jam in back myself but one was really bad.

a fucked up tailbone

and a bleeding nose + gums.

For a moment there i thought i lost some teeth.

I'll have to take it easy tomorrow and will probably spending the day shooting for everyone else.

When old issues hunt you down...it sucks!

Went a little too big on the wallride today and caught a front edge causing me a little ankle sprain from a past injury in Lago De Oro 8 months ago which you can read here.

SUCKS.

Had a day trip with the Crew today to Pandanon Island, Bohol

Saw a whaleshark on the way over..so nice!

the water in Pandanon is really nice and we got to laze around for a few

As you know i have kinda stopped eating pork, except for Gasthof's Ribs and Crispy Lechon Skin.

This week i ate lechon 3 times!! but it was worth it.

Still stuck with my Globe Tatoo Internet stick. good internet is basically all i miss in Manila.

Been in transit for a while

PKRA Thailand X Thai Wake Park X Bangkok : Thailand Love You Long Time

The Thailand Trip was insane!

Bruno Sroka who was also with us for the KTA in Boracay. We all came in on the same flight and got a nice deal for a huge van with a Teli heading to Hua Hin

not to mention my two hot kite mommas Normeth and Nenette of Hangin Kite Center who followed the day after...

We got to Hua Hin really late so we had to drag our quivers to the comp area then look for our house which felt like forever since we we're traveling the entire day.

The wind in Hua Hin at that time was erratic, it's either hot and windless or windy and freezing with rain, so we kinda spent most of the PKRA days in the InterCon hotel poolside (chillin' like a millionaire. lol ) when the boys got knocked out from the double elims.

Kiting in Hua Hin is kinda tricky as the waves get big in the shore but it's fun to use them as kickers when you get a hang of it. Kite relaunching was death in the making

o well, i get kudos for experience.

Anton and Mikey formed a band in Hua Hin Reggae Bar. and i was the first groupie!

It is a quaint little bar at the end of Hua Hin beach with really cool locals.
